About
We are a management consulting firm working together with real estate brokerages, media/publishing companies, title insurance companies, venture investors, and Web 2.0 companies to develop technology marketing strategies in real estate.
We believe Web 2.0 is creating a sea change in real estate marketing. Web 1.0 spawned the ubiquitous broker and agent websites that deliver one-way information to the consumer. Web 2.0, encompassing what is now known as the Social Media, encompasses the blogs, the social networks and other online applications that promote direct dialogue between the real estate professional and consumer. We see blogging as a proven method for developing online presence to attract search engine, leads and client traffic. We’ve been advocates, coaches and thought leaders on the Social Media as demonstrated on our two blogs Transparent Real Estate and 3 Oceans Real Estate.

Explaining Web 2.0
How to Implement a Corporate Social Media Strategy
How we work with brokerages
Brokerages work with us to develop the social media strategies that will become real estate marketing game-changers for their market.
We understand the hurdles brokers and agents face in developing the Social Media Strategy; the blogosphere is littered with abandoned real estate blogs and most agents have no idea how to leverage their LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter accounts. We work with brokers to 1) develop a Social Media strategy and advise on website and blog network infrastructure, and 2) create innovative programs to get their agents involved in the Social Media that will trigger career success.
How we work with lenders and title insurance companies
Lenders, title insurance companies and their subsidiaries providing real estate settlement services face the same sweeping changes of Real Estate 2.0 – service like provisioning mortgage and title insurance, and managing the settlement processes are performed most efficiently on the internet. Selling and marketing these services is changing from “office donuts delivery” to online data delivery. Although the personal aspects of service are always paramount, it’s more important for these service providers to add value to their clients’ business development and education.
We work with lenders and title insurance companies to develop strategies that put their personnel on the front lines of their Social Media, interacting directly with their clients to strengthen their relationships. For example, we are developing Social Media programs that get real estate professionals and title insurance personnel working closely together to develop mutual business relationships.
How we work with media companies
Domus Consulting Group works with mainstream media companies to develop publishing strategies that leverage Social Media content. We differentiate ourselves from other social media consulting firms with our domain knowledge and experience executing strategies for industry. Refer to How to Implement a Corporate Social Media Strategy for an overview of the state of Social Media advisory.
How we work with real estate technology companies and venture investors
Real estate and technology are two different worlds that speak their own special languages and often harbor conflicting expectations. We’re strategy experts with over 30 years combined experience developing corporate and Web 2.0 product strategies. Moreover, we’re not “ivory tower”, we create execution plans and follow through. Our Principals’ backgrounds encompass:
- Internet startup management
- Technology analyst with McKinsey, a global management consulting firm
- Investment banking – eight years experience
- Real estate settlement services management
- Four years practical experience working as a real estate broker/agent
We construct the bridges that get technologies and online applications adopted by the real estate community. We do this by leveraging our knowledge of the Real Estate 2.0 space, developing Social Media strategies, and applying the assets of Web 2.0 to building next generation products and applications.
